Daily Games has no accounts, cookies, ads or trackers. The server only counts things: how many people visited, started, won or lost today's game. Nothing it stores can tell you apart from any other player.
What your browser sends to our server
The games talk to api.games.kak.im. These are the only requests, and none of them carries a body, a cookie or an ID:
| When | What is sent | What the server keeps |
|---|---|---|
| You open a page | The page name (for example capitale) |
A page view count, split by browser family, operating system and device type (desktop, mobile, tablet). It derives these from the browser's standard User-Agent header and then throws the header away. |
| You start a game (Geo Funfactle) | The game name | Today's "games started" count goes up by one |
| You finish a game | The game name, whether you won, and in how many guesses | Today's count for that result goes up by one |
| You open the stats | The game name | Nothing. It only reads today's totals for everyone |
The counts are kept per game and per day. They feed the "everyone today" statistics in the game and our own dashboards for keeping the service running. They are never linked to a person, a device or a session.
What stays on your device
Your guesses for today, whether you gave up, and your personal win statistics are saved in your browser's local storage, so a reload doesn't lose your game. They are never sent anywhere. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the web servers that host Daily Games write standard technical logs: your IP address, the time, the address requested and your browser's User-Agent. We use them only to keep the service running and secure, such as finding errors or blocking abuse. They are kept only briefly, are not combined with anything else and are never used to track or profile you. Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Third parties
None. Fonts and images are served from our own servers, so opening a game contacts no one but us. The footer links to GitHub and to Ko-fi ("Buy me a coffee"). Those sites only learn about your visit if you click the link, and then their own privacy policies apply.
